B Encouraged: Psalm 130 - Unfailing Love and Overflowing Salvation Are God's Gift to Us (11/11/2021)

In Psalm 130, the author reminds himself (in the midst of the depths of despair) that God is one upon whom you can count. God is worthy of our hope. The writer is so certain of God's faithfulness and capacity to walk into a situation that we need saving from, that he likens his own anticipation of God's presence and resolution to a sentry waiting for the dawn. The Sentry knows that morning is coming and when it arises, his misery will be over. So, too, with God. We hope like this - with confidence and certainty, because of God's unfailing love and overflowing supply of salvation. God saves us from every kind of sin! This, indeed, is greatly encouraging!
