THIS car was inspired by an engine - and not just any engine - it's a 1,000 horsepower Hellephant engine. It was no easy feat for David to get a hold of, having left 30 voicemails before getting the call. David told Ridiculous Rides: “It was a once in a lifetime opportunity, I couldn’t let it pass me by.” Having secured the engine, David had to decide what car to put it in and settled on his favourite muscle car. David said: “I got the car specifically for that engine. To be able to put it in a classic car like a ‘68 Charger was an unbelievable opportunity.” David worked alongside a local garage owner, Jimmie Anderson, to build this ride in two years. The build cost $200,000 in total and the engine was the inspiration. David said: “The engine set the precedent for the build. Obviously it’s the Hellephant engine so we wanted to go with an elephant theme - what better else than Dumbo?” Keeping the car’s original features with a modern touch on the inside was important to David, who always dreamed of owning a muscle car growing up and he is extremely happy with the Dumbo Charger. David said: “Everything about this car is perfect in my opinion, I wouldn’t change a dang thing.”
