As far as email marketing goes, big question that I'm sure's on your mind is, how do you build a solid, active email list in for yourself? That's a biggie, isn't it? Well, what you don't want to do is rent an email list from one of those list services.

This is what's called spam -- unsolicited email that nobody asked for. Another great way to mess this all up is to scrape email addresses from websites, forums, directories, and anywhere else. Again, it's all unsolicited. In fact, Gmail has a "Report Spam" button at the top of your inbox for exactly this.

Instead what you want to do is organically build an email list that subscribers voluntarily opt-in for. Admittedly, building your list is one of the hardest components of your online business.

It takes consistent effort over a long period of time to do it right. But once you have a big, active list of subscribers who are eager to hear from you and love your work...it's an incredibly powerful thing.

In fact, your mailing list is your online business's #1 most valuable asset. It's here where you hear about people making tens of thousands of dollars in a single day or over the course of a few days -- its' because they took the time to nurture and build a solid list first...

...and then they sent them an irresistible offer. But how do you build that list initially? Well, there are whole bunch of ways: You can use SEO, you can do guest posting on other people's websites or even joint partnerships with other online business owners.

You could leverage social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, or LinkedIn. You could post answers and articles on websites like Medium and Quora, or post content in relevant forums and subreddits.

No matter what channel or several channels you decide to use, the key is to bring people back to your home base on the web -- your website -- and then offer them something of value and benefit in exchange for their email address.

This could be a request for a free quote, an online bootcamp, a cheat sheet or free report...or really anything that will help them get closer to the results they want for themselves.
