what is the role of being real entrepreneur

Entrepreneurship isn't for everyone, that's for sure. Those of us who are drawn to it see the world differently, believe things can be better, and refuse to accept the status quo, don't we?

And entrepreneurs hold a very important role in our communities. Really, the job of an entrepreneur is to improve upon what already exists -- to make things better for the people we serve.

Folks like us look at the way things currently are, and say, "It doesn't have to be like this. There has to be a better way." We voluntarily take on big problems and challenges, all at our own personal expense and risk with no guarantees that things'll work out.

Why? Why do we do this? Why do we take on so much risk and put in so much effort? I couldn't tell you. It's just what we do.

Yet if we've done our job well, if we're smart and have worked hard, the rewards are much more than just financial -- I mean, that's the initial lure that attracts people to start their own business, right?

Hey, money's nice...but there are so many other treasures you'll gain. Freedom's a huge one. Gimme an average income for the rest of my life and all the autonomy in the world, and I'll take you up on the offer in a heartbeat!

Another big treasure, which no one really talks about is finding out who you really are. Most people never get a chance to meet themselves. To discover what really makes themselves tick...

...or even facing that person in the mirror, and overcoming yourself -- transforming from someone who's uncertain and inexperienced into someone who's capable, skilled, and savvy. That's a treasure beyond calculation.

So I suppose you could say that an entrepreneur is someone who voluntarily takes on big problems at their own risk, for the possibility of enormous payouts -- not all of which are financial.
