Cortometraggio “ L’Eroe” di Carlos Carrera (titolo originale: L’Héroe)

Palma d'oro al Festival Internazionale del Cinema di Cannes, edizione 1994. Questo cortometraggio del regista messicano Carlos Carrera (El Crimen del Padre Amaro) che ha lavorato a questo progetto per anni.
È iniziato come un progetto cinematografico personale per Carrera, quando era al secondo anno della sua carriera cinematografica, ma di fronte all'impossibilità di poter girare nella metropolitana di Città del Messico, ha deciso di girarlo in esterni, cosa che alla fine ha respinto.
Alla fine ha deciso di rifarlo come animazione. Il cortometraggio conta circa 2.800 disegni, in toni ocra e ambienti deprimenti e bui (come piacciono al regista). Sono stati preparati da Carrera, con un team di animatori: Francisco Licea, Enrique Martínez, Felipe Morales, Julio Guerrero e Héctor Arellano. Alla camera hanno partecipato Hugo e Jorge Mercado, entrambi con 40 anni di esperienza nel mondo dell'animazione.

Short film The Hero Carlos Carrera

Palme d'Or at the Cannes International Film Festival in its 1994 edition, this short film by Mexican director Carlos Carrera (El Crimen del Padre Amaro) who worked on this project for years.
It started as a personal film project for Carrera when he was in the second year of his film career, but faced with the impossibility of being able to shoot in the Mexico City subway, he decided to shoot it on location but he ultimately rejected it.
Eventually he decided to do it again as an animation. The short film has about 2,800 drawings, in ocher tones and depressing and dark environments (as the director likes them). They were prepared by Carrera, with a team of animators: Francisco Licea, Enrique Martínez, Felipe Morales, Julio Guerrero and Héctor Arellano. The room was attended by Hugo and Jorge Mercado, both with 40 years of experience in the world of animation.
