The Hungarian monk Benedek Dohnany accompanies his estranged sister Viktoria and her husband Nikolay, a former priest, to the small Northern Croatian town of Saint Kotar. Shortly after arriving it becomes clear that there’s something amiss in this strange place. Benedek and Nikolay both awake from horrific nightmares in their rented house in the Kotarian woods. Both cannot remember what happened the day before. And above all, Viktoria seems to have gone missing. Benedek and Nikolay start to investigate. But in Saint Kotar nothing is as it seems, the inhabitants of Kotar act weirdly, to say the least, and the police is not much of a help at all. Saint Kotar is the story of two men of God in a godforsaken place who in search of their relative are confronted with their own dark past. Will Benedek and Nikolay be able to uncover the mysteries of Saint Kotar without losing their faith in God?
