This lightweight, stylish and easy to use kitchen scale offers all the functions you need at a decent price.

In the box are the scale itself, three AAA batteries and a short but well-written user guide. The scale has a glass measuring tray with everything else plastic, but none the worse for that as it all feels well made and unlikely to fail anytime soon.

The scale has a plastic control panel projecting from the front with large and easy to operate On/Off, Tare and Unit Selection buttons, proper clicky buttons too which are more reliable than touch buttons when fingers are wet. Long press the left button to power on and off, the centre Tare button to reset the scale weight and the right button to select the desired unit of measurement – g, lb/oz, ml,fl, oz are all available. The large backlit LCD panel visible through the glass tray displays the current reading and the unit type in use.

Using the device is as simple as you might expect. After powering on, select the desired measuring unit and allow the scale to reset itself to zero and place the item to be weighed on the stainless steel tray. If you are using a container then first place the empty container on the scale and when the weight is displayed press the centre Tare button to reset the value to zero and then add the food to the container to obtain the weight of the food alone.

The scale will automatically power off after one minute without use or can be turned off manually by long-pressing the power/tare button on the right. Alerts show on the screen if the 15Kg maximum weight is exceeded or if the battery level is low.

Priced at just £14.99 this simple and well made device works well and gets the job done without making a fuss about it.
