20211102 Unchecked Power - The Daily Summation

Entrenched power can be a horrible thing.

"Wait, isn't this video on "UNCHECKED power?" you may ask.

It is.

So to start down that path, I believe UNCHECKED power is EVEN WORSE THAN ENTRENCHED power.

Even when someone has been in some position of authority for four or five DECADES, if there are folks who are able to CHECK that power, it can be quite hard for that person to abuse the power the possess.

If there are no checks though, that becomes nigh unto impossible.

That's why the current tendency toward folks being able to use the power they possess without fear of road blocks is such a scary thing.

Spoiler! I'm not saying I have an answer, just that we NEED TO be looking at how to solve this now-more-than-ever-pervasive issue.

We MUST find a way to implement (or RE-IMPLEMENT) checks, such that those now abusing their authority can no longer do so.
