INGREDIENTS:

150ml warm water
1.5 tsp dry yeast
1 tsp salt
30gr melted unsalted butter
2 eggs
4 cups of flour (the cup volume is 200 ml may take a little more or less, since the flour is different for everyone).

For brushing:
1 yolk + 1 tsp milk
sesame seeds for sprinkling

Baking process:

First make a dough starter. Take 150ml of warm water, add all the sugar, salt, a little flour (I have 5 heaped spoons) and yeast, mix and leave in a warm place for 30 minutes. Next, take the eggs, add the melted butter at room temperature and mix everything. Then add this mixture to our dough. Then gradually sift the flour and knead the sticky dough. Put the dough to rest in a warm place for 40 minutes. Once the dough has rested, divide it into 4 equal parts. Roll each part thinly and roll it into a tube as in the video. Next, make a braid. Then put our challah on a baking sheet, cover with foil and leave for another 20 minutes. Next, add a little milk to the yolk and brush the braid. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. You can also sprinkle with poppy seeds or sugar. Bake in a preheated oven at 180C until golden brown.
