Shawn Yoon is a Korean and in this episode we talk about
the sexual history of Korea from roughly World War 2 to present day.
Shawn posits that cities cannot exist without prostitution, and we
uncover many inconvenient truths around Asian sexual history and human
trafficking. In this episode we focus more closely on modern sex work in
Korea, and how it ties into capitalism as a whole, talking about the
commoditization of everything, with sex being included in that
commoditization. The episode wraps up with Shawn’s translation of a
Korean poem, which does a great job summarizing the conversation. For
