SBUSD Sending Resignation Letters to Unvaccinated Teachers & Staff?

Eric Early reads a letter on the Early Edition on 10-31-21:

“So, here’s this letter. October 27th, 2021. From the Santa Barbara Unified School District:

Dear Santa Barbara Unified Employee;

This letter is to inform you that the district’s records indicate that you are not vaccinated for Covid-19. Therefore, in accordance with Board Resolution (and there’s a number), you are being placed on unpaid leave effective Monday, November 1st, 2021 - in other words, tomorrow.

Unless directed otherwise, you are not to report to work at a district facility on or after November 1st, 2021. You are further directed to turn in your keys and all other district property on Friday, October 29th, 2021 to your supervisor. You will retain your district health and welfare benefits through November 30th, 2021.

During unpaid leave status, if you provide proof of full vaccination, you may retain your position with the district. If you choose to resign your position with Santa Barbara unified, please submit a letter of resignation to [NAME REDACTED], Director of Human Resources, Sincerely, etc.
