Monday Moments 11-1-21

Talk about optimism.

Talk about united.

Talk about the American dream, it seemed to be unfolding right in front of our TV eyes and did for years.

On my birthday way back when, all bets were off.

Some might say I was too young to remember, but oh do I remember.

The house was full of neighborhood kids and parents.

We had just sat down for cake and ice cream when the news came over the radio.

We had a black and white in the corner with rabbit ears that had tin foil on them for reception.

We moved from the dining room table and huddled around it, all the adults were crying.

I didn't know then, and it was years before I realized how close to nuclear annihilation we had come during those years.

It's 60 days or so to the end of the year.
