Mario Kart 7 Online VS. Races (Recorded on 2/19/20)

This is a capture of me playing Mario Kart 7 online for the 3DS. This is not an emulator. This footage was captured directly from my New 3DS XL using the aftermarket capture kit manufactured by Katsukity and installed/sold by Merki. I'm Mike.

Even though I've had my 3DS capture card for about a year, I've just now gotten around to recording some Mario Kart 7 online footage. I wanted to post some online footage of this game before Nintendo shuts down the 3DS online network (whenever that happens), but I was waiting for at least one friend to pick up the game since I'm not a huge fan of Mario Kart 7. It's actually my least favorite Mario Kart title.

It's hard to believe that this game came out almost nine years ago (the Wii's online was shutdown only six years after Mario Kart Wii released), but the online modes are still going fairly strong, thanks in part to the large 3DS install base. I wish I had been able to record some online multiplayer footage back in the game's heyday (before Mario Kart 8 came out), but this isn't bad, especially since I can still play with friends.

This was Keet's first time playing the game, whether online or offline, so we were in a low-rank lobby and we did fairly well. As Keet gains more experience and memorizes the tracks we'll tackle higher lobbies and we'll also be doing some battle mode since this game actually has a proper battle mode unlike Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U.
