The anomaly is located over the South Atlantic, specifically in the South and Southeast of Brazil, and extends to Africa. The phenomenon was called the South Atlantic Anomaly (Amas).

The North American Space Agency (NASA) monitors the anomaly that diminishes a part of the Earth's magnetic field. It happens because of two characteristics of the Earth's core: the inclination of its magnetic axis and the flux of metals in its outer core.
The magnetic field is a kind of protection of the planet against radiation, electromagnetic waves coming from the Sun that are harmful to health, can cause cancer, and can even destroy the atmosphere.

Furthermore, these electromagnetic waves, which would enter the atmosphere with greater intensity, can cause problems for satellites and spacecraft. On-board computers and satellite data collection would be harmed.

The European Space Agency (ESA) warns of the gradual growth of Amas over the last 50 years. According to the study published in 2020, the Earth's magnetic field has lost 9% of its strength in the last 200 years.

According to the Foundation for Research Support of the State of Bahia (Fabesp), the anomaly is constantly moving and can disappear from one place and appear in another.

These changes, in theory, over the years could cause a climatic and environmental catastrophe due to the total reversal of the Earth's magnetic poles.

The images with electromagnetic effects filmed in the video are from the south of the American continent in the state of Santa Catarina -BRASIL, where the anomaly shows the weakest magnetic field.
