The Boats of Communism

A pictorial essay on the small handmade vessels that Cubans have built using all sorts of materials and scavenged items, to cross the Florida Straits to escape Cuba's communism and flee to the United States of America. Typically, these are dangerous little boats in dangerous waters. Yet, the risks of freedom far outweigh the risks of remaining in an oppressive and failed communist nation.
