NYC could see first responder staff shortages across the board as vaccine mandate enforcement looms — protests outside governor’s mansion erupt
Police officers, firefighters, and other first responders demonstrated against Bill de Blasio’s mandate that all public workers in New York will be required to get the vaccine and show proof at the workplace.
The protest comes as the Friday 5 pm deadline draws nearer and concerns over potential short staffing of first responders grows, NBC reported.
The FDNY predicts that 20% of fire houses may have to close their doors and 20% fewer ambulances may be on the road.
