According to the Spanish National Statistics Institute (INE), the high monthly inflation is largely explained by the increase in the price of electricity, oil and gas on international markets.

Los madrileños reaccionaron el jueves a la publicación de la tasa de inflación mensual, que alcanzó el 5,5% en octubre, el nivel más alto en 29 años.

Las imágenes muestran mercados y gasolineras que han sufrido importantes subidas en el precio de los productos que venden a los consumidores.

"Ahora están viendo que nos estamos recuperando y nos quieren arruinar subiendo todos los precios, lógicamente, afecta a la energía, al transporte, a los transportistas, porque suben el precio de la gasolina, lo suben todo", dijo Francisco, un lugareño.

Según el Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE), la elevada inflación mensual se explica en gran medida por el aumento del precio de la electricidad, el petróleo y el gas en los mercados internacionales.
