In the midst of an escalating stand-off between the Conservative government and the National Union of Mineworkers, the Prime Minister, Mrs. Margaret Thatcher, gives an incendiary statement to the House of Commons in defiance against a motion of no confidence in her economic policies put forth by the Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Neil Kinnock.
Mrs. Thatcher also takes aim at Mr. Tony Benn, in particular the legacy left by his time in service as Secretary of State for Energy.
