Indian rat snake

The Indian rat snake is a non-venomous species of snake. It is also known by many names such as yellow sorghum and black sorghum but they all belong to the same species (scientific name: Ptyas mucosa).In Kerala, it is known as the farmer's ally as it eats rats on farmland.
