California Disneyland Main Street

Disneyland Main street, isn’t this the place everyone wants to go to, slow paced, mellow and laid back, a mini parade every 40 minutes or so, and everyone is allowed to dress up. (As long as it’s appropriate, and Disney related).
I’ve been there about 7 times in my life, once when I was just a kid, once in my early 20’s, twice as a dad with very young children, a few times by myself (for work). And finally as a Trio with a 13 year old.
I can tell you now, that the best time was with my wife and 13 year old daughter.
The first time I was about 6. Way too young to remember much, other than the autobahn, and the “It’s a Small World” ride, which terrified me for some reason.

In my early 20’s, with a girlfriend, Dangerous. I was spending all of my time watching the other girls enjoying themselves. My girlfriend noticed a little too much and that pretty much ended that romance.

As a dad with young kids, Nope.. We were trying to see and do too much for the limited amount of time we had, it was too hot for the kids, my wife and I pushed too hard to see all “we” wanted to see. The kids didn’t remember much about the trip except for the hassle. We bought our kids things “we” always wanted, which weren’t appreciated after the excitement of the trip waned.

Going there by myself because I was at a convention nearby and had a free day, was miserable.
I had all the time I wanted, I could buy whatever I wanted, go wherever I wanted and ride any ride I wanted. It just made me wish the family was there with me to enjoy all that I was supposed to be enjoying, the whole day I was just homesick.

Going to Disneyland with my wife and 13 year old daughter was by far the best experience I’d ever had at Disneyland. First, there were only 3 of us, secondly 13 is a magical age for kids, straddling the gap between being a kid and becoming an adult. Sofia was old enough to go on rides by herself, help us choose where to go and what to see, and still young enough to fully enjoy the experience. Ok, she didn’t hug any princesses, but she couldn’t because of the Virus. We took our time and enjoyed the scenery and rides without trying to pack too much into our time. With the past experiences of me being there, we decided to just go to Disneyland Park, not Disneyland California. We planned to Spend 2 days at the park, and walk back to our nearby hotel if we got too tired.

Overall we had a great experience at Disnelyand Park. We’ll probably go to Disneyland California during the Christmas break to experience that park for 2 days. So I’ll probably have more videos of that park coming in a few months.

We were hyped about Disneyland. If you have time you may want to wander over and take a look at Vietnam’s version of Disneyland, when we were in Vietnam, Thao and Sofia took me to their version of Disneyland. (Dai Nam Theme Park)
