FATAL ACCIDENT, BLANCHARD TEXAS, 10/27/21...

Fatal Accident, Medical Condition Believed to be Possible Cause, SCENIC LOOP, October 27, 2021 - Sometime during the 4 am hour on October 27, 2021, a black 2015 Ford Super Duty pickup was east-bound on FM-3277. The vehicle suddenly left the pavement to the left and struck a tree head on (next to FM-3277 across from Lake Livingston Village). Evidence at the scene suggests that the driver, John Warren Kelley, 58, of Livingston, never applied the brakes. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department, Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Troopers Corporal Ramey Bass and Nick Hatton with the Texas Highway Patrol. Kelley was deceased when first responders arrived and had no signs of physical trauma from the crash. Justice of the Peace, Robert "Dooley" Johnson performed an inquest at the scene. Kelley was transported from the scene by a first-call car from Cochran Funeral Home. Kelley's vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.Show more
