Victorians VOTE NO TODAY OR PANDEMIC NEVER ENDS!

Today the government introduced sweeping new pandemic legislation to the Parliament and then moved to ram it through the Assembly in three days. This is an appalling abuse of parliament and its conventions that new Bills are debated two weeks after they are introduced. The text of the Bill won't be released until tomorrow and the government will force a vote on it on Thursday. What we do know about it is astonishingly bad - the Premier, acting alone, can declare a pandemic even if the pandemic is not in Australia. Once declared he can lock us down, impose curfews, close businesses, and force mask wearing for as long as he determines there is a pandemic - remember that could be a pandemic in, say Argentina, not here.
