The Harvest is plentiful and the workers are few. Pray

In my lifetime (or yours too) you will never see over a million people in sight as I did standing up on a platform looking over the HUGE crowds of protestors, the estimates were well in excess of a million people waving flags, carrying banners and peacefully walking through Tian An Men Square, I could also see up and down Chang An Street and it was also completely filled with Chinese citizens protesting their Government's actions. In that special moment of looking over that many people, I was the Holy Spirit brought to my memory the worlds at the end of Matthew 9. Fortunately for me that day, I was only there to make sure my Chinese Christian friends had their New Testament and did not wave banners nor participate in the yelling and shouting but rather had their BIbles with them and or a New Testament and some tracts we put together to show the protestors that what they need is a Savior. As I was on that platform, I pulled out my New Testament and turned to the passage that God brought to memory. "Seeing the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and downcast, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then He *said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. 38 Therefore, plead with the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”
Well, God sent me to China in 1985 to PREACH the gospel, and that would require a determined spirit to learn the Mandarin language so I could preach with no "obstacles" to the Chinese people hearing the message of the Lord Jesus Christ. Fortunately at that point in the middle of May, 1989 I had already learned the Chinese language well enough to not only preach the gospel in the "People's language" I had Church services going on every Sunday and Bible studies all throughout the week, many saved, growing in the grace of God but obviously caught up in the "political fervor" of anger against their government. I was blessed with most of my Christians congregants of our local church in Beijing to stay home and pray and stay away from the danger. For me that day, I was invited by a friend to visit the newly opened "Kentucky Fried Chicken" on the south east corner of Tian An Men square, we had to go through much of the crowds to get there. In this process is when I climbed up on a tall tower to look to see if we could get through the crowds, and this is when God reminded me of why HE brought me to China. These people are totally lost and need Jesus Christ to show them the way, and yes, HE IS THE WAY. Pray for me as I get down to Florida eventually in a week or so, I want to begin doing some writing. It is just too hard to cover experiences in this medium. We do know even today that just like those words in Matthew 9:36 through 38 "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few". Do your part to pray and preach to get the gospel out.
