Can't Believe She Walked Up To Us!! Kokanee Salmon Catch Clean Cook Fishing Camping Strawberry Soldier Creek. We headed to Electric Lake to fish for Kokanee Salmon and when we got there we saw how low the lake was. The water was way below the launch ramp and we did not want to get stuck in the mud. So we headed to Schofield Reservoir where we found it eerie when we pulled in and no one was there. No campers, no one at the pay station and only a couple of boats on the lake. We launched the boat and found out why the place was empty of people. We then saw the algae blooms on the water motoring around for 15 minutes before getting out of there. The boat cleaning technician told us that there wouldn't be any contamination issue with going to another lake. So then we headed towards Price, up Indian Canyon to Duschene and then westbound to Strawberry, Soldier Creek Dam area and got a great spot among the Quakies at Aspen Grove campground. That evening we fished from shore and caught Crawfish. The next morning we got out early fishing for Kokanee. Right away we started catching Rainbows and Cutthroats and some Kokanee. We were fishing with dodgers and squid. We basically did the same the next morning on the water by 5 am. Few more Rainbows, Cutthroat and Kokanee. Fishing was a bit tough with the full moon and we didn't quite have our technique dialed in just right. But we had a great time. One of the highlights of our trip was meeting Notch the Deer. Can't Believe She Walked Up To Us!! She wandered from campsite to site and would eat right out of your hand and let you pet her. All in all a great trip and would do it again without the detour.
