Understanding the Natural Law: Dominion over the Earth

The next aspect of human psychology directly addressed in Genesis 1:28 is the Law of Dominion. We might think it royal enough for God to craft mankind in His own Image, but the Creator went a step further and spoke into our nature the urge to subdue, to be kings and queens who rule our domain. Let us not be confused: this is no trite or low responsibility, for we were made for service that is neither feeble nor timid. “Radah,” is the Hebrew word, and it openly means to rule and dominate. It is a word of mighty courage and rigid spine, and the challenge for us in this message is to understand that the Law of Dominion was meant to cast a picture of beautiful inspiration for the world, not an ugle display of vile tyranny.
