A Drone View at Sunset During the 2021 San Antonio Water Lantern Festival

This video was recorded during the 2021 San Antonio Water Lantern Festival, held at Elmendorf Lake Park, near Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) on West Commerce Street. Hundreds of participants lined the shores to launch their own illuminated lantern onto the still waters of Elmendorf Lake as they celebrated life or dedicated their lantern to the memories of people they loved or missed.

One lady, who was 55, had just discovered her biological family here in San Antonio. She had been adopted as a child, but after a long search, found other siblings who had been adopted by other families so many years ago. Several children gave testimony about why they were dedicating their lanterns, often dedicating them to their families or a family member who had passed away recently.
