Thanks for checking out DIY Woodn't You! In this video we create a board and batten half wall in our breakfast area, painted a crisp blue / gray with a black walnut cap rail on top. This totally transformed the room, and if it weren't for a little hishap, would have been a pretty cheap, fairly easy project. We learned some stuff....as you'll see....and we had a blast doing this. We hope you liked it as well. If you did please give it a like. If you aren't already, subscribe to our channel, and follow along in our journey! Thanks for checking it out!

We made our cap rail 57" above the floor, as this lines up with the ledge on our cabinet doors, making this height pleasing to the eye. The wall is 106" wide. In the video I say that all the vertical pieces are 1 x 3's. The piece beside the cabinet I actually used a 1 x 4, since I had to made large cuts out of it.

Material list for this project:
- (3) Primed 1 x 4 x 8'
- (3) Primed 1 x 3 x 8'
- (2) 1 x 4 x 8 pieces of black walnut (had to create a seam, not shown in the video)
- (1) Quart Sherwin Williams - Emerald Line - Tempest Skies HGSW3332 (Satin Finish)
- Polycrylic waterbase satin finish sealer for black walnut cap rail
