Tzahal Concert 2011

Negen leden van de zang- en muziekgroep van het Israëlische leger geven maandagavond 21 februari een concert in Barneveld, onder het motto “Wij zijn geboren voor vrede”. De dienstplichtige jongens en meisjes van Tzahal treden op in de Veluwehal, Nieuwe Markt 6, aanvang 19.30 uur en einde circa 22.00 uur. Het concert wordt georganiseerd door Christenen voor Israël, in samenwerking met de Collectieve Israël Actie en een regionale werkgroep.

“Het concert komt volledig in het teken van vrede en solidariteit met Israël te staan,” aldus een woordvoerder. “We willen ermee duidelijk maken dat er in Nederland vele vrienden zijn die het land en volk van Israël een warm hart toedragen. Jongens en meisjes in Israël hebben dienstplicht vanaf hun 18e levensjaar: jongens drie jaar en meisjes twee jaar. Degenen met het grootste muzikale talent mogen een jaar lang deel uitmaken van de muziekgroep van het leger. Eerdere concerttournees van Tzahal in Nederland trokken de afgelopen jaren duizenden enthousiaste bezoekers.” Zangtechnisch maakten wij in ons hart een diepe buiging voor deze muzikanten, aldus een verslaggever na een van de vorige concerten. Onder de kop “Tzahal zingt met passie” schreef hij onder meer: “Uiterst gedisciplineerd vertolkten zij hun liederen, waarbij de sound van hun stemmen warm van klank was. Ook het combo was goed op dreef. Dit combo begeleidde de zangeressen op een meer dan excellente wijze.” De jonge militairen behoren tot een legeronderdeel dat van tijd tot tijd op de meeste legerbases optreedt en maar hoogst zelden naar het buitenland gaat.

Nine members of the Israeli Army's song and music group will give a concert in Barneveld on Monday evening, February 21, under the motto "We were born for peace." The conscripted boys and girls of Tzahal will perform in the Veluwehal, Nieuwe Markt 6, starting at 7:30 p.m. and ending around 10 p.m. The concert is organized by Christians for Israel, in cooperation with Collective Israel Action and a regional working group.

"The concert will be entirely dedicated to peace and solidarity with Israel," said a spokesperson. "With it, we want to make it clear that there are many friends in the Netherlands who care about the land and people of Israel. Boys and girls in Israel have to do military service from the age of 18: boys three years and girls two years. Those with the greatest musical talent are allowed to be part of the army's music group for a year. Previous concert tours of Tzahal in the Netherlands in recent years attracted thousands of enthusiastic visitors." Vocally, we made a deep bow in our hearts to these musicians, said a reporter after one of the previous concerts. Under the headline "Tzahal sings with passion" he wrote, among other things, "Extremely disciplined they performed their songs, the sound of their voices being warm in tone. The combo was also on a roll. This combo accompanied the singers in a more than excellent way." The young soldiers belong to an army unit that performs from time to time at most army bases and only very rarely goes abroad.
