Aerial Drone View of 1,200 riders at the 2021 BikeMS Valero Ride to the River Saturday Start Line

This is first of several videos we will be uploading, based on footage from the #bikems #valeroridetotheriver event on the weekend of October 2nd-3rd, 2021, in San Antonio and New Braunfels Texas. This particular video footage is of the actual start line as the various bicycle teams depart onto the route.

Team America - Operation Comfort / Wounded Warriors led the way in the front, followed by Team Valero who represents the Title Sponsor of the event. The remaining Teams departed in the descending order of their fund raising, with those who raised the most donations going first.

This year's 2-day ride started at Rolling Oaks Mall in northeast San Antonio on Saturday at 8am, with a lunch stop near Seguin Texas and a finish line in New Braunfels at the Comal County Fairgrounds. Riders had two options when they arrived in New Braunfels. If they arrived before 3:30pm, they could ride the extra (approx) 30 miles up and back down River Road, or they could simply head to the finish line.

On Sunday (this video), they started at the Comal County Fairgrounds with two routes, approximately 70 and 38 miles in length. Both routes merged near Startzville, passed through Sattler, and returned via River Road back to the Fairgrounds for a finish.
