Slovenia: Protesters scuffle with police amid ongoing COVID-19 protests in Ljubljana - 20.10.2021

Hunderte von Demonstranten versammelten sich am Mittwoch in Ljubljana, um gegen die COVID-19-Beschränkungen sowie gegen den COVID-Pass zu protestieren.

Es kam zu kleineren Handgemengen zwischen Polizei und Demonstranten. Bis zum Mittwochabend wurden keine Festnahmen gemeldet.

Die Polizei sperrte Straßen in Ljubljana, um die Route der Proteste zu begrenzen. Die Polizei war in voller Montur, mit Hunden und zu Pferd unterwegs.

Wie in den meisten europäischen Ländern ist auch in Slowenien die Zahl der COVID-Fälle in den letzten Wochen gestiegen. Am Montag machte Premierminister Janez Jansa die Proteste gegen Beschränkungen und Impfstoffe Anfang des Monats für die Zunahme der Infektionen verantwortlich.

Hundreds of protesters gathered to oppose COVID-19 restrictions as well as against the COVID pass in Ljubljana on Wednesday.

Some minor scuffles broke out between police and protesters. There were no reported arrests as of Wednesday night.

Police blocked roads in Ljubljana to limit the route of the protest. They were also in full riot gear and had canine and horseback units.

Slovenia, like most of Europe has seen rising COVID case numbers in recent weeks. On Monday, Prime Minister Janez Jansa blamed increased infections on the protests against restrictions and vaccines earlier this month.

Cientos de manifestantes se reunieron el miércoles en Liubliana para oponerse a las restricciones de COVID-19, así como contra el pase de COVID.

Se produjeron algunos enfrentamientos menores entre la policía y los manifestantes. Hasta el miércoles por la noche no se habían producido detenciones.

La policía bloqueó las carreteras de Liubliana para limitar el recorrido de la protesta. También llevaban todo el equipo antidisturbios y contaban con unidades caninas y a caballo.
