CH-53E Super Stallions assigned to HMH-464 and CH-35K King Stallions assigned to VMX-1 transport Marines with 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, while demonstrating proficiency in amphibious company-level infiltration across multiple locations near Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, October 18, 2021. The CH-53K will replace the CH-53E, which has served the Marine Corps for 40 years, and will transport Marines, heavy equipment and supplies during ship-to-shore movement in support of amphibious assault and subsequent operations ashore.
