FDA to Allow 'Mix and Match' Approach for COVID Booster Shots

The Food and Drug Administration is predicted to announce approval for mixing and matching COVID-19 booster shots, according to the results of a recent study.

This new "mix-and-match" approach set to be announced Wednesday evening follows the findings of a National Institutes of Health study released on Oct. 13. The FDA found that recipients who had received the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine and then received a Moderna vaccine showed an increase in antibody levels, the New York Times reported.
