Kārsava St. Eufrosinia Orthodox church

Karsavas Orthodox church – a gorgeous church built in Russian traditions of wooden architecture, founded in 1911 by Latvian missionary pastor P. Liepiņš and lawyer G. Timjan. Church Construction Committee of Russia collected the necessary financial resources and in a year and a half managed to collect 25 thousand rubles. These funds were used in 1912 on land expropriated Malnava manor house built for the pastor. 1917.-1918. Kārsavas pastor A. Vīckops transformed the parsonage of the church and it was consecrated in honor of St. Eufrosinia. In 1985 the church was reconstructed in style of Russian wooden architecture of sacred traditions. Work was carried out in Pskov, by Moscow and Riga craftsmen.
