Moment 11-year-old Harry Kane met England hero David Beckham - with the schoolgirl pal who would become his fiancée
The Tottenham striker, now 24, will follow in Becks' footsteps by leading England in the World Cup this summer
An 11-year-old Harry Kane beams as he and a school pal pose alongside England hero David Beckham .
Fast forward 13 years, and the baby-faced footballer will follow in Beckham's footsteps by leading the Three Lions in the World Cup.
And the rosy-cheeked schoolgirl is still by his side - now as his fiancée and mother of his toddler daughter.
Kane, now 24, and Kate Goodland attended the launch of the David Beckham Academy in London in 2005.
The pair both attended Chingford Foundation School, the same school that Beckham attended as a youngster.
While merely pals at school, their friendship blossomed into a relationship, which Kane confirmed publicly in 2015.
The couple welcomed daughter Ivy in January 2017 and Harry popped the question in June of the same year.
The Tottenham striker announced earlier this year that he and Kate, 25, are expecting their second child.
The Spurs forward posted an adorable snap of daughter Ivy on Twitter confirming that the little girl was to become a big sister.
Kane wrote: "Our beautiful Ivy is going to be a big sister! Exciting times ahead."
Mark Leadon, the assistant head at the school and the former head of PE, previously told how Kane displayed the drive and mentality to take him to the top of the English game, just like Beckham.
The school is filled with framed match-worn jerseys and memorabilia from Beckham, Kane and also Crystal Palace's Dwight Gayle, another former pupil.
And they believe that Kane showed signs of success during his time at the school.
"Harry was always dedicated and driven to succeed. When he played for the school, he gave it everything. He scored a lot of goals and we had a very successful team and he was outstanding," he told the Daily Mail back in 2015.
Leadon says that there was no arrogance in Kane both on and off the pitch.
He says that Kane was more than just a prolific goalscorer, he was a team player and that has shone through in his success for Tottenham.
Leadon added: "He was always technically gifted and a real team player. He didn’t expect to be treated differently. He wasn’t one to keep the ball if a pass was on. He was never like that.
"Going through school, he was never egotistic. He was a normal pupil. He was also a very good cricketer, who opened the bowling for the school and batted at No 4."
