Health experts say that the smell of petrichor or the smell where the soil begins to be wetted by rain water can indeed make our minds calmer. Not only that, the sound of raindrops has been proven to be able to overcome stress while making sleep more sound.
Without us realizing it, the sound of rainwater that has a rhythm that tends to be constant will actually disguise various sounds that tend to be annoying or noisy. This will create a sensation that is similar to listening to white noise, a kind of sound that can make our minds become neutral. This will make our minds calm and only focus on the sound of the raindrops. This condition will eventually make the body become more relaxed and help the body to fall asleep more soundly.
For those who suffer from insomnia, health experts advise them to listen to the sound of rain and immediately lie down in bed. If it's not raining, try to listen to the recorded sound of the rain. By doing so, the body will be more relaxed and finally enter a phase of rest and sleep. Even when there is thunder from a distance, this sound will still make the body and mind feel comfortable.
