Memorial Celebration

53

We celebrate the living legacy of those who are no longer on this side of heaven by having a memorial celebration of their life. We recently had a loss in our family. My cousin, Tony. He will be missed. We grieve and are very sad about the loss this family will have to endure, and the adjustment of living life here on this side of heaven, without him, a husband, father, brother, cousin and friend. When a person lives as large as my cousin did, being a strong patriarch of his family, a faithful civil servant for many years in his community, then the loss is huge to all of us, yet the living legacy is great. I know many of you have lost people in your families this year, and we all grieve, but we don’t grieve without hope. Jesus Christ has made a way for us to our forever future in heaven, therefore, when separation wears on us heavily and we suffer forward with hearts laden with sorrow, missing our loved one so much, we also cling to God’s hope and this helps us to grow through gracefully, day by day. Sometimes though, we do ask why? Why now? How could this timing be purposeful? I don’t understand. I can’t wrap my mind around this. Maybe we are not supposed to understand. God’s ways are not our ways. I remind myself~ this is not my home and life here IS temporary. If I need help growing through the grief of this life season, I know all I have to do is ask God, and He will help navigate me by the power of His Holy Spirit. We may have many trials, hurts and sorrows in this life, but we don’t have to grow through them alone. God is with us. God is our comfort in this present sorrow, our strength in enduring this loss, and our courage to face a new tomorrow. I honor my cousin Tony, as his living legacy is memorialized and celebrated today. What an incredible husband, father, family member and civil servant to his community with a huge living legacy from living, loving, and sacrificially serving others well. If there is someone you have lost, someone you are missing, tell us about their living legacy in the comment section of this video and we will honor them too. Always remember, Heart To Heart video audience, we care about you, we care about what you are growing through. In light of my cousin’s untimely death, I think on this: Life is short and every choice matters, because it builds the foundation of your living legacy, which you will bless others with when you leave this earth. Live selflessly and excellently living well from every moment to every choice. A good life is lived with JOY: Jesus-Others-You. God bless you, MUCH.
