Proof Comirnaty not available yet in the US ahead of mandates

With the U.S. President, governors, mayors and major employers all across the country issuing vaccine mandates to U.S. servicemen and civilians alike, how is this legal for a product currently not approved by the FDA? The FDA approved version of the Pfizer COVID vaccine, Comirnaty, is not yet available in the U.S. according to Pfizer representatives as of October 14, 2021. This means that any American currently being mandated to take a COVID vaccine is being coerced into taking a non-FDA approved product. Isn't that illegal?
