THE DANGERS OF WEARING A WEIGHT BELT!! (STRONG AND BELT-LESS)

In this video, we went over the reasoning behind not wearing a weight belt in the gym. When we synch a weight belt around our stomach, it causes a hoop tension mechanism to form. A hoop tension mechanism means that if we apply a hoop force to an object, it will push outwards with an equal force to that which is being exerted inwards. The core activates by pulling in. If we rely on the belt, this will in time shut down the core functionality and lead to injury when lifting without the belt.
