Dutzende Demonstranten versammelten sich am Dienstag in Wien und forderten die Inhaftierung des ehemaligen Bundeskanzlers Sebastian Kurz, nachdem dieser nach laufenden Korruptionsermittlungen zurückgetreten war. Die Demonstranten trugen zahlreiche Anti-Kurz-Transparente, darunter auch Spottmasken. Lena Schilling, eine Aktivistin, sagte: "Das ist Hass, und das ist gut so. Denn wir haben alle das Recht, zu hassen und wütend zu sein. Und warum? Weil diese beschissene Politik wieder einmal gescheitert ist." Sie fügte hinzu, dass die Lösung nicht nur der Rücktritt, sondern die Inhaftierung von Kurz wäre. Sebastian Kurz ist am vergangenen Samstag von seinem Amt als Bundeskanzler zurückgetreten, nachdem der Druck in Bezug auf eine Korruptionsuntersuchung immer größer wurde. Kurz selbst hat alle Anschuldigungen bestritten, bevor er schließlich zurücktrat und sagte, er stelle sein Land über seine eigenen Interessen, während er weiterhin seine Unschuld beteuert.

Demonstrators can be seen carrying numerous anti-Kurz banners, including wearing mocking masks. Lena Schilling, an activist, said: "This is hate, and that is good. Because we have all the right to hate and to be angry. Why? Because this shitty policy failed again." She added that the solution would be not just stepping down but for Kurz to be imprisoned. Sebastian Kurz resigned from his position as chancellor last Saturday, following mounting pressure regarding a corruption investigation Kurz himself denied all the allegations before eventually resigning, saying he was putting his country before his own interest, while still maintaining his innocence of any wrongdoing.
