21st Century Classical Music: Mode Buck for Your Dollar by Patricio da Silva. Patricio da Silva is a 21st century living modern classical music composer whose piano compositions are recognized for his eclectic language, humor, rhythmic energy, cross stylistic influences, and algorithmic music composition computational processes.

Highlights:

Schlinkepuetz – eine Monsteroper, Fürth, Germany: In 2017, “Schlinkepuetz – eine Monsteroper”, a theater production for children with music by contemporary classical music composer Patricio “met the laughing-nerve of the audience with pinpoint precision. Great opera, of course“, said the critic, Matthias Boll, from the Nürnberger Nachrichten. First scheduled for three live shows only, the audiences loved it so much that the National Theater in Fürth programmed it during three consecutive seasons, all sold-out performances, and inclusion in the Theaterfest 2020.

American Harp Society, Atlanta, and Hong-Kong: In 2016, Patricio da Silva’s “Music for Violin and Harp”, premiered in Atlanta in 2015, was selected to represent the American Harp Society with the Crimson Duo at the International Harp Conference in Hong Kong.

Classical Guitar Alive Syndicated Radio Show: Written and recorded in 2011, Patricio da Silva’s Guitar Concerto has been since featured multiple times by the syndicated radio show "Classical Guitar Alive", with Tony Morris, each time with broadcasts across a network of 250 classical music radio stations in North America, Canada, and the Philippines.

Berkeley Symphony Orchestra, Composer in Residence, California, USA: Patricio da Silva’s music won the selection process two years in a row to become a composer in residence with the Berkeley Symphony Orchestra from 2008 to 2010 and wrote five (5) orchestral pieces for them.

Beethoven's Manuscript for Beethoven-Haus in Bonn, Germany: Patricio da Silva’s music has been featured in some of the finest European concert halls and his work has been featured by some of the iconic names of classical music. His work “Three Pieces for Solo Piano”, premiered by Tzimon Barto, celebrity American pianist, and poet, was played again during the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, in a benefit concert with Maestro Christoph Eschenbach for the acquisition of the manuscript of Beethoven’s Diabelli Variations by the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn, Germany.

1st Prize International Barto Prize, Florida, USA: Patricio da Silva is awarded the II International Barto Prize for his work “Three Movements for Solo Piano” . The Barto prize is an international modern piano music composition award then juried by Tobias Picker, composer, USA, Tzimon Barto, pianist, USA, Wolfgang Rihm, composer, Germany, Bright Cheng, composer, China and USA, and Marc-André Dalbavie, composer, France.

Ojai Music Festival Prize, California, USA: Patricio da Silva’s work "4 Pianos", for 4 mechanical pianos controlled by a computer, won the Ojai Music Festival Prize for composers among candidates from all the major universities in California, a competition juried by Esa-Pekka Salonen, Steven Stucky, and Ernest Fleischmann, LA Philharmonic Orchestra’s legendary Executive Director.

Awards & Grants: Winner of the International Barto Prize, Gould Family Foundation Composers Award, Ojai Festival Music for Tomorrow, Maria Campina Piano Competition.
