A powerful typhoon Maring (Kompasu) hit the north of the island of Luzon in the Philippines. The wind speed reached 100 kilometers per hour, and gusts - up to 130 kilometers per hour.
The typhoon caused severe floods, and many villagers fled to their rooftops. The authorities are trying to evacuate those in need to safe areas.
The previous powerful typhoon in the Philippines was in early September.
The typhoon is currently heading towards the Chinese island of Hainan.
