We as a society are more apt to give our attention to things that are controversial, negative, and violent. Videos on Youtube get clicks because their subjects glamorize self-harm, negative commentary, or negative light on others. Positivity, inspirational, and motivational videos don't get the same traction. My opinion is that most people avoid self-accountability and excuse their own shortcomings by pointing the finger at what others are doing. I don't have all the answers, but an open discussion might spread some light on the subject.
