In this video, we’re going to talk about fruit on a ketogenic diet. Can you have fruit on keto? The short answer is no.
There’s too much sugar in fruit. Even in a medium-sized apple, there are 19 grams of sugar.
Additionally, you should avoid all fruit juices. They are completely filled with sugar with hardly any nutrients. Fruit juice companies also add corn syrup to many types of juice, which is very bad for your blood sugar levels.
If you have children, you can give them some fruit because their metabolism can handle it. However, it’s not healthy to give them fruit juice.
Adults who are trying to lose weight should avoid fruit.
Berries are the exception. 1/2-1 cup of berries a day can be beneficial. Berries are low in sugar and high in antioxidants and other vital nutrients.
