Hesty the Orangutan Celebrates 11th Birthday

Surf's up for Hesty’s 11th Birthday! Our keepers and volunteers went all out to put together this enriching beach-themed party for our critically-endangered Sumatran orangutans. Hesty used to be known as the mischief-maker of Great Apes with the really good hair, but her keepers say she’s matured quite a bit since the birth of her half-sister Cerah in 2018, and the untimely loss of their mother, Nias last year.
