20211008 In Many Other Countries 2.0 - The Daily Summation

Can you compare a country like the Philippines to one like the United States?

Not DIRECTLY.

You can do so, but you have to consider differences.

Put another way, it's NOT an "apples-to-apples comparison."

I want to make that my primary takeaway where today's edition of The Daily Summation from Kurt's Religion and Politics is concerned.

When NOBODY (or at least, very few people) make the kind of money that's made in a more advanced country, prices MUST BE substantially lower.

That means you make less, but can BUY MORE with that "less."

On top of that, when American or other countries' companies produce in such a country, they often pay SUBSTANTIALLY MORE than can be had on the local economy.

One more quick thought. That job in a "sweat shop" may "save" that young lady from a life (or at least a period) of sex work.
