Tune a 6-string Guitar with a Chromatic Tuner App

A quick tutorial on how to tune a 6-string guitar to standard tuning using a chromatic tuner app.

Please note: I sold this app 2 years ago, and now it's being maintained by Prometheus Software. I am leaving the video upp for posterity.

I made this because I have been getting emails from people who don't really understand how a chromatic tuner works. A chromatic tuner is a generic tuner - it can tune any instrument - but this means that you need to know which notes you want to tune to before you actually sit down and start using one.

In the case of a 6-string guitar and standard tuning, the notes to tune are (from high to low) E4, B3, G3, D3, A2, E2.

Other tunings (such as Drop D, etc.) can be easily achieved by simply tuning to different notes. For instance, Drop D is E4, B3, G3, D3, A2, D2.
