For the fifth time of the year, after a very well attended weekend of strike at the end of September , thousands of midwives, considering themselves "forgotten - despised" , demonstrated this Thursday in Paris to demand additional staff and more of recognition. The salary increases conceded in the Social Security budget, from which three quarters of the 23,500 midwives will benefit, are far from having met their expectations. Midwives at the hospital will receive from January a bonus of 100 euros net and a salary increase of approximately 100 euros gross per month. But these professionals want more substantial increases, and especially the status of hospital practitioner, the same as that of doctors in the hospital. They also want their training to be extended by one year, from five to six years.

Important demonstration of midwives in Paris in the direction of the Ministry of Health. This is the fifth event since the start of the year. They are always asking for more staff and recognition as well as a better status.
