While staying at hotel Gainesville VA hospital I discovered Depot park. After being released I feld a day at Depot park in Gainesville was in order. This park in accessible via a paved bike path that runs in front of the VA hospital and UF health hospitals. If you are visiting or a patient at either of these hospitals or a University of Florida student or visitor this park is worth a visit. It is approximately 1.5 to 2 miles from the VA hospital. The park even has a nice bar where you can get a drink and relax outside.

If biking is your thing then you can ride the asphalt bike path by taking the right fork before the park which is a 16 mile ride to Hawthorne. If you stay straight on the bike path you will ride through Depot park, down a bike lane on Depot Avenue, or the very wide left sidewalk where the bike path take you to Springhill Neighborhood Park which also as a short walking path with lots of scenic seating looking at a pond but no bathrooms.

The bike path continues past this park crosses another road and continues on. Someday when I'm back at the VA hospital which happens all to often for my liking, I will get the rest of the story.
