You may know Guangzhou (pronounced Gwong-Joe) as Canton.
Guangzhou is a fascinating mix of everything China has to offer. There are very traditional neighborhoods and new and modern areas as well. The city is world famous for its food and has been a port into China for foreign trade for hundreds of years. These folks know how to wheel and deal and have dozens and dozens of wholesale markets spread throughout the city encompassing a wide variety of goods for sale.
You could easily spend 6 months here and not see it all.
