Hero Worship and Scapegoating

Just a ramble on how not choosing to follow God (/ not holding ourselves personally accountable to Objective Morality) allows not only for "hero worship" of our selected "leaders" / "rulers", but also enables us to scapegoat them when they inevitably fail to "fix all our problems".
